The working group met for the first time on May 5. The participants discussed the provision of conscripts, cadets, instructors who do not receive additional payments.

The commanders of the Defense Forces, as well as the Minister of Defense Reznikov, the chairman of the State Border Service and the leaders of the security agencies called for the creation of a working group on the development of a new draft law on the monetary allowance of the military.

“In a military position, at least you understood that you would finish your service in an hour. And now they receive almost no money, some minimal money,” said the deputy.

“Actually, a lot depends on them, but since they are on paper and not on the front line, accordingly, they do not receive additional payment. Neither 30, nor 50, nor 100 (thousands, ed.),” explained Tsabal.

“Depending on how much funds will be found, that is, find internal reserves due to increased income from certain taxes or due to the fact that we will be able to, perhaps, agree with our partners that they will be able to partially allow us to increase the debt… in depending on how many funds will be found, such a decision should be made,” Tsabal explained.

He also added that his position is that the military needs a significant increase in extra payments.

“These may be additional payments as part of the salary increase, but it should be gradual so that it does not turn out that we have the same additional payments in the rear and at the front,” the deputy noted.

Let’s remind

On April 10, the Verkhovna Rada approved a new bill with an amendment, allowing to return the extra payment of 30,000 hryvnias to the Ukrainian military, regardless of whether they are in the rear.

On April 12, a draft resolution was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada temporarily blocking the return of payments to soldiers in the rear in the amount of UAH 30,000.
