The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested SOTAvision journalist Antonina Favorskaya (Kravtsova) on charges of participation in an extremist organization. This is what the Foundation for Combating Corruption, founded by Alex Navalny, calls the consequence.

According to the investigation, Favorskaya collected materials, filmed and edited videos and created publications for the foundation. Yulia Navalny’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh said yesterday that this is not true.

The meeting on March 29 was held behind closed doors, the correspondent of “Mediazona” reports. Favorskaya denies guilt. She managed to inform journalists that she was being tried for an article about how Navalny was questioned by the Federal Service for the Execution of Sentences.

According to the presented article, the journalist faces up to 6 years in prison. FBK was recognized by the Russian authorities as an extremist organization in 2021.

Favorskaya was detained on March 17 in a cafe after visiting the grave of Alexei Navalny at the Borysovsk cemetery. The next day, she was arrested for 10 days on charges of disobeying the police. She was detained again on March 27 on her way out of the detention center.

The journalist’s house was searched. At the meeting on March 29, she managed to announce that four rubber ducks were confiscated from her (such toys were a symbol of anti-corruption protests in 2017). “Understand the absurdity of all this and the process,” she said.
