The court chose preventive measures in the case of fake certificates for foreigners

The Cheremushkin Court of Moscow sent three defendants in a criminal case for illegal issuance of certificates of knowledge of the Russian language and history, including employees of the Pushkin Institute of Russian Language, to a pretrial detention center, under house arrest, and ordered a ban on certain actions as a preventive measure. The press service of the court informed “Interfax” about this on Tuesday.

For Maryna Balburova and Gennady Tarasenko, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest and detention until June 8, respectively. Tatiana Novikova was ordered to ban certain actions. Charges have been brought under the articles of organizing illegal migration and exceeding official powers. The agency does not specify the duties of the accused.

In the initiation of a criminal case, the Moscow Investigative Committee reported a day earlier, noting that five suspects have been detained, and that a measure of restraint will be chosen for them in the near future.

According to the investigation, no later than December 11 last year in Moscow, a group of people, including employees of the Pushkin Institute, organized the illegal issuance of certificates to foreigners, including certificates of Russian language proficiency, for their further submission to the migration authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the same time, the majority of foreigners actually did not have such knowledge, the department claims.
