In Veliky Novgorod, the court allowed the “Yabloko” party to go on campaign pickets with the slogans “I’m for peace!”. Earlier, the mayor of the city refused party members to coordinate the event. Ksenia Cherepanova, a member of the party, told about this in her Telegram channel.

On August 7, the mayor of the city Alexander Rozbaum refused “Yablok” to hold pickets on the main streets of the city under the pretext that all the sites are already occupied for other events. In return, party representatives were offered sparsely populated seats.

Simultaneously with this election, Veliky Novgorod banned the distribution of the campaign newspaper “I’m for Peace!”. As told in the party, the reason for this was a “technical error” on the disk with the digital image of the newspaper. On August 9, the police seized part of the circulation of the newspaper “I’m for peace!” from the party office, “7×7” reported.

The party appealed to the court with a claim to declare the refusal to hold pickets illegal. The court sided with Yablok. Pickets will be held on August 11.
