A court in Ufa arrested a 17-year-old local resident on charges of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization recognized in Russia.

According to the investigation, the teenager corresponded on the Internet with members of the “Art training” movement, which the Russian authorities declared terrorist.

“The fake actions and terrorist acts planned by Artpodgotoka on the territory of the Russian Federation, aimed at destabilizing the activities of state bodies and the subsequent violent seizure of power, were of particular interest to minors,” the FSB press release quotes Idel.Realii.

The “Art training” movement was organized by Saratov politician Vyacheslav Maltsev. On October 5, 2017, he appointed the so-called revolution, called on Russians to come to the squares of their cities on this day. After that, supporters of Maltsev began to be arrested all over Russia, even for single pickets. Dozens of criminal cases were instituted, and many defendants received long prison terms.

The Supreme Court of Russia recognized the movement “Artpodgotovka” as an extremist organization. Maltsev himself was arrested in absentia on charges of inciting extremism, but he managed to leave Russia. A number of oppositionists consider him a provocateur who worked for the FSB.
