The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg denied the involvement of judge Vladimir Ushakov in the Telegram channel run on his behalf.
“We inform you that the account of the judge of the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg V.Y. Ushakov in the Telegram messenger is fake,” said the press release. It is also noted that the judge does not have accounts in social networks and does not use messengers.
The Telegram channel “Judge Ushakov” was created on March 16 after the judge of the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg, Vladimir Ushakov, sentenced politician Yevgeny Roizman to 14 days of arrest.
Roizman was found guilty of displaying extremist symbols. The reason was the reposting of the video “Why Putin is impeaching Navalny” on the VKontakte page, which was run under Roizman’s name. The law enforcement agencies said that the video contained extremist symbols – the badge of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, banned in Russia. Roizman claims that he has nothing to do with the publication of the video and does not use VKontakte at all.
- Since August 2022, Roizman has been under de facto house arrest in the criminal case of the so-called discrediting of the Russian army. The politician is forbidden to leave the house at night, to use the Internet and social networks.
