The regional court of the Novgorod region forbade the regional branch of the “Yabloko” party to hold a series of pickets under the slogan “I am for peace”. It was claimed that the events of the Party of Pensioners have already been agreed upon in the same places.
Anna Cherepanova, deputy of the Veliky Novgorod Duma, reported this on social networks. Pickets, according to the official application, were supposed to be held in support of Cherepanova in the city duma elections. The City Hall forbade them to be held, saying that all the sites in the city were already reserved for other events.
The city court canceled the decision of the mayor’s office. She complained about it. When considering the appeal, the representative of the mayor’s office told the court that a representative of the Party of Pensioners from Nizhny Novgorod (the distance between Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod is about 800 kilometers — RS) submitted an application to the activists of “Yablok” to hold actions in the same places.
According to Cherepanova, the representatives of the Party of Pensioners did not come to the actions. She called their application fiction.
