The court sent two Vesna activists to pre-trial detention center

The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent the activists of the “Vesna” movement Yan Ksenzhepolsky and Evgeny Zateev to pre-trial detention until August 5, who are accused of several articles of the criminal code, including the organization of an extremist community. This is reported by “OVD-Info”.
Four more detainees in the case of the activist — Vasyl Neustroev, Anna Arkhipova, Pavel Synelnikov and Valentin Khoroshenin — are awaiting court decisions on remand.
On June 6, “Vesna” activists were searched in a number of cities, after which Zateev was brought to Moscow from St. Petersburg for questioning and court, and Ksenzhepolsky from Tver.
Activists are also accused of rehabilitating Nazism, spreading so-called fakes about the army, and public appeals for activities directed against the security of the state. The reason for the instigation of cases were the posts on Vesny social networks, which, according to the defenders, were published before the movement was recognized as an extremist organization. The Vesna movement opposes the war in Ukraine and the power of Vladimir Putin, a number of its activists left Russia after the start of the war.
