The Croatian District Court of the city of Split decided to hand over Viktor Medvedchuk’s Royal Romance yacht to Ukraine based on a request for international legal assistance.

About this reported ARMA head Olena Duma in Telegram.

According to her, the state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Frano Matusic, informed that the district court of Split decided to hand over the ship Royal Romance to Ukraine on the basis of a request for international legal assistance.

“We have received an assurance that Croatia expects the ship to be handed over to Ukraine as soon as possible. According to the Croatian side, there are no legal obstacles to the implementation of this intention,” Duma emphasized.

In addition, the head of ARMA explained the information in the Croatian media about the departure of Medvedchuk’s arrested yacht.

“ARMA is keeping the matter under special control and has reliable data that the arrested yacht was temporarily set aside on January 25, 2024 to confirm its technical capacity, buoyancy and engine operation. These measures were taken according to the decision of the district court. To ensure legality during the technical inspection the process was monitored by the Captain of the port with the participation of Croatian policemen,” Duma explained.

It is added that ARMA has received approval to conduct a second review of this asset. After carrying out an assessment of the seized asset, ARMA plans to realize its sale. The sale of this lot will be the first example of the sale of seized assets located abroad.

We will remind:

The Cabinet of Ministers, on the initiative of the Agency for Search and Management of Assets, improved the procedure for the sale of seized assets and introduced the possibility of their sale abroad.
