The defendants in the case of Dugina’s murder each received 3.5 years in prison

The proletarian district court of Tula sentenced two defendants in the case of the murder of Darya Dugina to 3.5 years in prison. The prosecution requested that they be sentenced to 3 years and 11 months in prison.

According to the investigation, Alexander Suchkov and Andrey Kuznetsov forged documents for the car in which the alleged perpetrator of the crime, a citizen of Ukraine Natalya Vovk, left Russia. The accused themselves stated at the court that they did not know to whom exactly the documents were made and how they would be used.

• Darya Dugina, the daughter of publicist Alexander Dugina, who is considered one of the main ideologues of the war with Ukraine, died on August 20 as a result of a car explosion. Dugina was returning from the Moscow region to Moscow from the “Tradition” festival, in which she took part together with her father. The bomb was placed under the car, the victim herself was behind the wheel. According to one of the versions, the original target of the terrorist attack was Alexander Dugin, who was supposed to return to Moscow with his daughter, but at the last moment he got into another car. The FSB considers the Ukrainian special services to be the organizers of the murder. Official Kyiv denies involvement in the crime.

• At the end of April, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Bohdan Tsyganenko, a citizen of Ukraine, in absentia in connection with the murder of Dugyna. According to the FSB, shortly before the murder, he arrived in Russia in transit through Estonia and provided the alleged perpetrator of the crime, also arrested in absentia, Ukrainian citizen Natalya Vovk, with forged documents and directly with a bomb. According to the FSB, Tsyganenko left Russia a day before the explosion by Dugina.
