The director of a security firm was arrested in Bryansk in connection with the shooting at the gymnasium

The Bryansk Soviet District Court has arrested Sergei Poddubny, the director of the Excalibur Agency, until February 6 in connection with the shooting at the city gymnasium No. 5. His company provided security for the educational institution.

Poddubny is accused of providing services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two people.

On December 7, according to the Investigative Committee, a 14-year-old student brought a pump-action shotgun to class, fired several shots, and then committed suicide. As a result, five people were injured, one schoolgirl died.

Earlier on Saturday, it became known about the detention of the deputy director of the educational institution, Larisa Katolikova, who is suspected of negligence. This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies. He specified that the detention took place on Friday evening.

Telegram channels also wrote about Katolikova. Baza notes that she may face up to 7 years in prison. Channel “112” writes that Katolikova works in the gymnasium as head of the farm, and she was detained after questioning.

During the inspection, prosecutors established that, despite the actual presence of a technical means of inspection, a stationary metal detector in
the entrance to the gymnasium was removed, says the publication of “Interfax”.

• After the shooting, the Investigative Committee opened a case of murder of two or more persons. It was reported that Sergei Poddubny, security guard Galina Chertkova, and the father of the student who opened fire were detained. Channel Baza wrote that two criminal cases have been initiated against him – on the articles of negligent storage of weapons and suicide. According to the police, the girl took the weapon from her father.
