The EU wants to introduce sanctions against a number of companies from China that help the Russian Federation – mass media

The European Union proposed for the first time to introduce sanctions against several Chinese companies as part of the fight against companies that supply the Russian Federation with prohibited goods and technologies, which the aggressor uses in the war against Ukraine.

It is reported Bloomberg with reference to documents at the disposal of the editors.

According to these documents, the European Commission asked the member states to include about 35 more companies in the list, in particular, in mainland China and Hong Kong, as well as companies in Uzbekistan, Armenia and the United Arab Emirates.

The EC is convinced that these companies “directly support Russia’s military-industrial complex in its aggressive war against Ukraine.” The European Commission calls for stricter export restrictions on dual-purpose goods and technologies, as well as items that can contribute to the technological equipment of the Russian “defense”.

The sanctions list includes several Iranian companies that were the targets of previous rounds of sanctions for the production and supply of drones to Moscow, as well as hundreds of Russian companies. It is noted that Chinese companies are added to the list for the first time.

It is proposed to also include companies in third countries that are involved in the circumvention of trade restrictions by Russia, as well as some Russian organizations that participate in the development, production and supply of electronic components for the Russian military-industrial complex.

As for companies from China, there are only eight of them: Sinno Electronics Co. Ltd., 3HC Semiconductors Co Ltd., Sigma Technology Ltd., King-Pai Technology Co, Ltd., Asia Pacific Links Ltd., Tordan Industry Limited, Alpha Trading Investments Limited, Allparts Trading Co., Ltd.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that such actions by the EU, if they come true, will “seriously undermine mutual trust and cooperation between China and the EU, and deepen division and confrontation in the world.” He threatened that in such a case, China “will take decisive measures to protect our legitimate and legitimate interests.”

Some of these companies, the publication reminds, have previously come under US sanctions for supplying prohibited technologies and electronics to the Russian military-industrial complex.
