According to the investigation, Rakova, while working as a deputy minister, secured the allocation of budget funds for the Fund for New Forms of Educational Development, which she headed. With this money, the fund ordered work from a subcontractor – Shaninka. The investigation claims that the work was paid for, but not performed.
Rakova was in the pre-trial detention center for almost an hour. Zuev also spent some time in a pre-trial detention center, later he was transferred to house arrest. In November of last year, the Moscow City Court softened the restraining order against them. Rakova was released from pre-trial detention center, and Zuev was released from house arrest.
During the investigation, all the accused pleaded guilty. Most of the damage in the case has been compensated. Earlier, Zuev’s lawyer Ruslan Kozhura told Business FM that only his client reimbursed 37 and a half million rubles.
