The father of a disabled child went on a picket to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation with a request for help

Dmitry Bakhtin, a resident of Yekaterinburg, who for a long time has been seeking the provision of the necessary medicine for his disabled child, on Tuesday held a new single picket in Moscow – this time at the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Bakhtin went to the ministry with a poster-appeal to the head of the department, Mikhail Murashko. The footage is published, in particular, by the Telegram channel Govorit NeMoskva. “The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation does not provide medicine to a disabled child,” the poster reads. As the Bakhtin family notes, their demands remain the same – to provide the child with a vital drug.

Dmitry Bakhtin’s three-year-old son, Mikhail, is suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Radio Svoboda wrote in detail about the situation in a recent publication on September 5, when a resident of Yekaterinburg went to a rally near the building of the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk Region. Bakhtin demands the provision of expensive medicine to his son from SMA “Rysdymplam”.

15 minutes after the start of the picket, representatives of the Ministry of Health came to Dmytro Bakhtin. They offered him a “warm talk”, reported the correspondent of MSK1.RU. The publication notes that the day before, the boy’s father was detained on Red Square and soon released from the department with the words: “We understand everything.”

• Misha Bakhtin’s parents have been holding pickets in Moscow and Yekaterinburg since the end of August, “Kholod” notes. In the summer of 2022, a criminal case of negligence was initiated against the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital in Yekaterinburg, which refused to treat Dmitry Bakhtin’s son with Spinrazoy. Since then, there has been no noticeable progress in this case, no charges have been brought against anyone.
• After Bakhtin’s individual pickets on Red Square and at the Government House, the head of the SKR, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the SC of the Sverdlovsk Region, Anatoly Nadbytov, “to report on the reasons for the red tape and the prospects for completing the investigation.”
