In St. Petersburg, student Dmytro Kuzmin was expelled from the Herzen Pedagogical University because of a single anti-war picket that he held at the end of September. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Sota”.

The activist went to the Kazan Cathedral with a poster “For your and our freedom, peace – Ukraine, freedom – Russia.” After the action, Kuzmin was released to the disciplinary commission. The student himself hoped that he would only face disciplinary action. The commission’s claim against Kuzmin was that when he entered the university, he undertook to comply with the rules of the internal regulations of the university, according to which he must comply with the legislation of Russia

“Sota” notes that this is Kuzmin’s second politically-motivated expulsion: earlier he was expelled from St. Petersburg State University for supporting Mikhail Belousov, an assistant professor of history who was dismissed for his anti-war stance, and criticizing the war.

Earlier, one of the defenders of Basevych’s house in St. Petersburg, student Kirill Kaverin, was expelled from St. Petersburg State University without the right to reinstatement. The reason for the expulsion was the bringing of Kaverin to administrative responsibility after the action in defense of the historical building. The order was signed by the vice-rector for youth policy of SPbSU, as the basis of which were specified letters from the police and the Ministry of Science, as well as some official memo.
