The FBI has declared the head of “Creative Diplomacy” Burlynov wanted

The FBI has declared the Russian Natalya Burlynova wanted. She is suspected of working for the FSB of Russia and recruiting US citizens to influence public opinion, including in the run-up to the presidential elections. She herself considers her persecution unfair and politically motivated.

Natalya Burlynova – associate professor of Moscow State University and Russian State University, candidate of political sciences. For some time, she worked in the directorate of international programs of the Russian state-owned RIA Novosti and at the radio station Govorit Moscow. In 2010, Burlynova founded the non-governmental organization “Creative Diplomacy”, which receives grant support from the Russian government.

According to the investigation, Burlynova conducted agent activities without notifying the Prosecutor General. The FBI claims that it recruited employees of scientific and public institutions to travel to Moscow for the “Creative Diplomacy” conference. Meetings with them, according to the special service, provided the FSB with information about the personal data of the “young leaders” of the USA and the opportunity to further monitor their careers and influence them. Burlynova’s activities were financed by the FSB.

RTVI TV channel contacted Natalya Burlynova. She stated that the USA is trying to spin the “Butina-2 case” and called her persecution politically motivated. Burlynova emphasized that she was last in the USA in 2018 as part of academic cooperation. She lives and works in Russia.

“There was a momentary collapse of my image, my business reputation – I am a scientist, I have been engaged in public diplomacy for many years, and in the eyes of millions of people, the same Americans, they simply turned me into a criminal, they don’t even have to prove anything,” said Burlynova. She turned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia for support.
