The FSB interrogated nine-year-old children in the case of discrediting the army

The FSB interrogated two minor children, a nine-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy, in a tricky case of repeated discrediting of the Russian army, which was brought against their mother, Lydia Prudovskaya, a lawyer from the Arkhangelsk region.

According to “Kholod” publication, Prudovska’s children were officially released for questioning as witnesses. They were interrogated separately from each other in the presence of a teacher-psychologist and a representative of guardianship authorities.

The criminal case itself was initiated because of Prudovskaya’s posts on the VKontakte social network, which talked about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is noted that one of the posts is a transcript of the singer Zemfira’s speech during a concert in London. In it, she said that right now “Russia is destroying Ukraine and itself” and called the war “absolutely senseless and cruel.” Natalya Khokhlova, an expert philologist, calls this speech “cruel and heartless” as well as “deprived of reasonable grounds” in the case materials.

Lydia Prudovska faces up to five years in prison. In Russian legislation, the presence of children under the age of 14 is considered a mitigating circumstance and a reason to postpone the sentence.
