The FSB of Russia reported that special service officers prevented an attack by drones loaded with explosives on the military airfield “Severny” in the Ivanovo region.
The FSB claims that the sabotage was prepared by the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the target of the attack was the A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft. According to the Russian investigation, explosive devices were planned to be delivered from the territory of Ukraine on a light aircraft. The pilot and members of the sabotage group were detained in the Tula region, the FSB claims.
Kyiv has not yet commented on the message of the Russian special service.
Meanwhile, a drone was discovered near the territory of the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant.
According to the Telegram channels Shot and “Baza”, the drone was found by security guards near the gate of the enterprise. The device, in all probability, monitored entry and exit from the factory territory. The device fell after the battery ran out. The Chkalov plant is involved in the production of Su-34 fighter-bombers.
Shot also reports that an unknown drone was spotted over the Vnukovo airport on Sunday night. Flights were temporarily restricted. After an examination of the airport territory, no suspicious objects were found. Flights have resumed. There is no official confirmation of this information.
