The FSB reported on the arrest of the suspects in the railway arson attack

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia reported on the arrest in Saratov of two suspects in the arson of relay boxes on the railway. A criminal case has been initiated under the article on intentional destruction or damage to property.

Two relay boxes burned down at one of the railway races in the Saratov Region on March 16. According to the transport police, it was arson. It is reported that several devices burned out, but this did not affect traffic.

The FSB reports that it detained a repeatedly tried 55-year-old local resident and his 42-year-old accomplice. In the video, published by the department, one of the suspects reports that he damaged the equipment on the order of the “Shadow Services” Telegram channel. He sent photos of burning relay cabinets to customers. It is not reported how much money the detainees received for their actions. The suspects were taken into custody.

Earlier, a court in Bryansk arrested a 25-year-old resident of the city of Suraj for two months in connection with the arson of a relay box on the railway. He faces up to 15 years in prison under the criminal article on sabotage. According to the investigation, he set fire to a relay cabinet in the Suraz region with the aim of “undermining the economic security and defense capability” of Russia. Due to his actions, the object of the transport infrastructure was allegedly destroyed.
