The FSB reported the murder of two suspects in preparation for an attack on a synagogue in Moscow

On March 9, Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee announced the start of a pre-trial investigation into reports of the murder of two citizens of the country suspected of terrorism in Russia. The special service did not provide details, noting that the investigation is being conducted jointly with the Russian FSB.

Earlier on March 7, the FSB reported the murder of two citizens of Kazakhstan, suspected of preparing an attack on a synagogue in Moscow, in the Kaluga region. The suspects were named as members of the Afghan wing of the international organization “Islamic State”, recognized as a terrorist organization in a number of countries.

In the message on March 7, it is stated that the suspects offered armed resistance during their detention. The FSB showed a video with the bodies of the dead, with firearms lying next to them.

Astra, citing unnamed sources, reports that a shootout between the suspects and FSB special forces took place in the morning of the same day in the village of Koryakovo near the border with the Moscow region. Journalists named the dead, noting that they were 35 and 32 years old.
