The head of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency, Raphael Grossi, confirmed the explosion of a drone on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is controlled by the Russian military.

Grossi did not specify which side of the conflict launched the drone. “As the IAEA experts were informed at ZAES, today a drone exploded at the facility. This is consistent with our observations. I urge you to refrain from actions that contradict the five principles of the IAEA and violate nuclear safety,” it is said in the message Rafael Grossa in social networks Kh.

The leadership of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, previously appointed by the occupation authorities, announced that Ukrainian kamikaze drones had struck the territory of the ZANP, including the area of ​​the cargo port and the canteen. The Russian state corporation Rosatom said on Sunday that the Zaporozhye NPP was subjected to an unprecedented series of drone attacks, putting the plant’s security under direct threat.

Ukraine has not yet commented on the statements of Russian officials about the shelling of the ZANP.
