The head of the Ministry of Education and Science “awarded” Sechenov and Butlerov with the Nobel Prize

The head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Valery Falkov, recorded a video message dedicated to the Day of Russian Science, in which he called the naturalist Ivan Sechenov and the chemist Alexander Butlerov, who lived in the nineteenth century, “Nobel laureates” and “the pride of Russia” – at the same time, none of them received the Nobel Prize did not receive

Telegram channel “Ch.T.D” drew attention to Falkov’s speech. Journalists noted that the congratulation hung in the social networks of several large Russian universities for almost a day. Valery Falkov was appointed head of the Ministry of Education and Science by decree of Vladimir Putin in January 2020. Before that, he was the rector of the Tyumen State University, as well as a deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma from the United Russia party.

In December 2018, Falkov became a member of the Council on Science and Education under the President of Russia, and in 2020, he joined the “working group on the preparation of proposals for amendments to the Constitution” of the country. Thanks to these amendments, Vladimir Putin got the opportunity to be elected to the post of president for the fifth and sixth term.
