The head of the security firm was given a suspended sentence after the shooting at the Izhevsk school

The court in Izhevsk imposed a three-year conditional term on the director of the private security company Shyt, Alexei Zlobin, who is accused of shooting at a local school in 2022 and killing 18 people there. As it became known on Friday, the defendant was also given a three-year probationary period.

Zlobin was found guilty of providing services that do not meet security requirements and forging payment documents. He pleaded guilty only to the second charge.

According to the press service of the Investigative Committee for Udmurtia, as mitigating circumstances, the court took into account the presence of underage children, the state of health of Zlobin and his close relatives, as well as the fact that he cooperated with the investigation.

According to the investigation, Aleksey Zlobyn signed a contract to protect the school, but did not organize it properly. It is noted that he, among other things, allowed people to work as security guards who, due to their age and health, were not able to ensure proper security of the institution, Interfax reports.

In addition, according to the investigation, in April 2021, the director of the security firm provided fictitious payment orders to the bank, on the basis of which 500,000 rubles were credited to his account.

Alexei Zlobin was detained two days after the shooting at Izhevsk school No. 88, which took place on September 26, 2022. At first, he was sent under house arrest, but later the court changed the measure of restraint to the prohibition of certain actions.

• Among the dead as a result of the shooting were 11 children. More than 20 people were injured. Later, the authorities announced that 11 of the wounded were recognized as disabled. The shooter committed suicide.
• The attacker, 34-year-old Artem Kazantsev, turned out to be a former graduate. He was armed with two traumatic pistols modified for combat cartridges. As a result of the shooting, a criminal case was initiated under several articles, including the murder of two or more persons and illegal trafficking of weapons. Separate criminal proceedings were opened against Alexei Zlobin.
