The girlfriend of the accused in the preparation of the terrorist attack was fined for failure to report

The court in St. Petersburg fined music teacher Tatyana Lymenya-Osypova 40 thousand rubles. She was found guilty of failing to report an impending crime. Lymenya-Osypova was friends with nurse Maksym Asriyan, who is under investigation on charges of preparing a terrorist attack and treason. According to the court, the friend knew about Asrian’s plans, but did not inform the police.

As reported by the St. Petersburg publication “Rotonda”, Lymenya-Osypova admitted her guilt. The case was considered separately. Punishment under the article on failure to report may amount to a fine of up to 100,000 rubles, or forced labor, or imprisonment for up to a year.

Earlier it was reported that criminal cases under the article of underreporting were initiated against two acquaintances of Asrian and his family, named Tatiana (apparently, this is Tatiana Lymenya-Osypova) and Anna. Both of them were detained last fall, then released on recognizance. In relation to the second suspect, the trial has not yet taken place.

  • Medical worker Maksym Asriyan has been in pre-trial detention center since October 2022. According to the investigation, he was going to set fire to the building of the military enlistment office of the Frunzen district of St. Petersburg. For this, he bought two bottles of liquid for kindling, however, when he approached the building, he did not put his intention into practice and left. Tatiana and Anna, according to law enforcement agencies, helped him buy flammable liquid.
  • Asriyan himself partially admitted his guilt: he stated that he had thoughts of setting fire to the military enlistment office, but he refused them, fearing that people might suffer.
  • Initially, a criminal case was initiated against Asrian on the charge of preparing a terrorist attack. In December 2023, it became known that he was charged with treason. What exactly became the basis for suspicion of treason is not reported.
