The International Aerospace Salon has been postponed to 2024

The organizers of the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) announced that the event will not be held this summer. MAKS, which was previously held once every two years, is now going to be held in 2024 and 2025.
The reasons for the postponement of the air show are not disclosed. The organizers said only that they continue to work “with participants and exhibitors, including among foreign companies representing friendly countries.”
Kommersant sources reported earlier that the International Aviation and Space Salon scheduled for July 2023 will not take place. According to them, the postponement of the event is due to safety concerns. One of the interlocutors of the publication suggested that the use of means of radio-electronic warfare against potential threats from drones would create obstacles for the flight program and, according to him, would hardly make sense.
MAKS, which is traditionally attended by the President of Russia, is being postponed for the first time in 30 years of the event. In 2023, the air show was to be held from July 25 to 30 at the Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow for the 16th time.
This is the main Russian forum in the field of aircraft construction and space technologies. It has been held every two years since 1993.
The purpose of its implementation is the demonstration of Russian achievements in these areas and the conclusion of new agreements with foreign partners. Airshows with the participation of Russian and foreign aerobatic groups take place within the salon.
