The International Foundation will help the National Bank of Ukraine to spread financial education for children and youth

The National Bank of Ukraine and the international foundation “Aflatoun International” agreed on the spread of social and financial education among Ukrainian children and youth.

About this informs press service of the NBU.

The relevant Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the NBU and the foundation at the beginning of September.

According to it, Aflatoun International will assist the National Bank with providing technical support and access to the author’s educational manuals on social and financial education and the curriculum for children and youth, the possibilities of adaptation and translation into Ukrainian of the author’s educational manuals on social and financial education.

Also, the parties exchange experience and knowledge on teaching financial literacy.

The purpose of cooperation is formation of a healthy financial culture among children and youth of Ukraine, raising their level of financial literacy, which involves mastering a certain set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior that enables a person to make their own informed financial decisions every day and, as a result, will contribute to the achievement of personal and national financial well-being

In addition, the National Bank, in cooperation with Aflatoun International, plans to prepare educational programs and manuals not only for schoolchildren, but also for preschoolers.

“Signing this Memorandum will give us the opportunity to systematize and strengthen our own efforts to improve financial literacy and will be another important step towards increasing the level of financial literacy among young people and, as a result, improving the financial well-being of Ukrainians in general,” commented Yulia Yevtushenko, Director of the Communications Department of the National Bank.
