In January, the state budget was reduced to a deficit of 72.3 billion hryvnias, in particular, the general fund – 78.9 billion hryvnias, which is half as much as planned.

Among tax and customs payments, the budget received the most from the payment of value-added import tax (UAH 24.4 billion), VAT on goods produced in Ukraine (UAH 11.8 billion), personal income tax and military duty (UAH 11.3 billion).
In addition, UAH 5.6 billion was received from subsoil rent, UAH 5.3 billion from excise taxes, UAH 2 billion from import and export duties, and UAH 1.2 billion from income tax.
In January, the general fund also received 36.6 billion UAH in the form of international aid (grants).
In January 2023, the income of the Social Security Administration to the Pension Fund and social insurance funds amounted to UAH 32.4 billion.
January expenses at the same time, they amounted to UAH 193.7 billion, in particular, the general fund – UAH 183.6 billion, or 80.6% of the breakdown of the reporting period.
In January 2023, the state budget was implemented with a deficit in the amount of UAH 72.3 billion, in particular, the general fund – in the amount of UAH 78.9 billion, against the planned deficit in the amount of UAH 158.6 billion.
State borrowings to the general fund in January reached UAH 160.1 billion, or 54.7% of the monthly plan. In particular, UAH 41.4 billion was raised from the placement of OVDP, and UAH 118.7 billion (EUR 3 billion) of macro-financial assistance from the EU was raised from external sources.
Payments for repayment of the state debt amounted to UAH 12.8 billion (98.2% of the plan), maintenance payments – UAH 0.6 billion (27.2% of the plan).
