The governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, Alexander Uss, thanked everyone who supported him during his detention in Italy and the return of his son Artyom to Russia. Ussa Sr. published a video message in his Telegram channel.
The governor expressed special gratitude to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. “He is not just the leader of our state, he is a man with a big and open heart,” Uss said. What exactly was Putin’s role in the events surrounding Artyom Uss, the governor did not specify.
The official also, without giving details, noted that support for him and his son was provided by people abroad.
- Artyom Uss was detained in Milan last October at the request of the US Ministry of Justice. The United States suspects the son of the Krasnoyarsk governor of violating the sanctions regime and money laundering.
- The court in Italy approved the extradition and sent Ussa Jr. under house arrest. On March 23, it became known that the governor’s son cut off the electronic bracelet and ran away. How exactly he managed to do this is unknown.
- The Italian media assume that Artyom Uss could use a private plane and fake documents, and the Russian special services could help him. Journalists wrote that the governor’s son could fly to Sardinia from Milan. His traces were lost there.
- At the beginning of April, Artyom Uss reported that he was in Russia.
