The Ministry of Defense of Russia has accused Ukraine of an attack by marine drones on the ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet “Ivan Khurs” in the Black Sea.
As stated in the message of the Russian military department, in the early morning of May 24, the armed forces of Ukraine attacked the ship with three unmanned boats approximately 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus Strait. The message says that all the boats were destroyed by fire, and the Russian ship was not injured. The Ministry of Defense also published a 10-second video, which allegedly shows the destruction of drones.
As stated in the message, “Ivan Khurs” ensures the safety of the functioning of the “Turkish Stream” and “Blue Stream” pipelines.
On Wednesday morning, a number of Russian Telegram channels covering the war wrote about the attack by naval drones on the ship, and some of them claimed that the attack took place much closer to the Turkish coast than the Ministry of Defense reported.
Ukraine did not comment on the statements of the Russian military department.
“Ivan Khurs” is a reconnaissance ship, which is designed to provide communication and control of the fleet, conducting radio reconnaissance and electronic warfare, monitoring the components of the missile defense system.
