The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has declared the former Moscow municipal deputy Anastasiya Bryukhanova on the international wanted list, against whom a criminal case was opened based on the article about fakes about the Russian army. This is reported by TASS with reference to law enforcement agencies.
On June 15 of this year, Bryukhanova was placed on the federal wanted list. On July 21, the Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow arrested her in absentia.
It became known in April that a criminal case had been opened against Bryukhanova. According to the investigation, Bryukhanova posted a video on YouTube, which “contains knowingly false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation against the civilian population of Ukraine.”
According to “Mediazony”, the reason for the case could be a video on the YouTube channel “Objective” entitled “Who committed crimes in Buch”, published on December 23 last year. Among other things, it talked about the involvement of the Russian military in the murders of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha near Kyiv. The investigators considered these statements to be “obviously false information.”
In a conversation with “Mediazona”, Bryukhanova noted that the case could have been initiated both because of this video and any other. According to her, she is active in anti-war activities and publishes materials about the war every day.
Anastasia Bryukhanova is outside Russia. According to her, on April 1, she received an electronic certificate of criminal record, which did not say anything about the case against her.
In the past, Bryukhanova was a deputy from the “Yabloko” party in the Shchukino district of Moscow. In 2019, she tried to run for election to the Moscow City Duma, but was not allowed to run for office. She also participated in the State Duma elections in 2021, but did not pass.
