The Golovinsky District Court of Moscow fined Tikhon Dzyadko, editor-in-chief of the “Dozhd” TV channel, 35 thousand rubles for violating the law on foreign agents. He does not report his inclusion in the list of so-called foreign agents in social networks.

At the end of June, it became known that an administrative protocol was drawn up against Dzyadko. The editor-in-chief of “Dozhdya” was entered into the register of foreign agents in October 2022. The journalist does not live in Russia: the editorial office of the TV channel is located in Amsterdam.

  • Two offenses recognized by the court under the article on the absence of marking may become grounds for criminal prosecution. Since spring, public figures, journalists, musicians and writers have been regularly drawn up administrative protocols due to the lack of marking, “OVD-Info” reminds.
  • On July 13, the Riga District Administrative Court upheld the decision of the Latvian National Council on Electronic Mass Media to cancel the broadcast license of the “Dozhd” TV channel. The channel’s statement says that the channel will continue to appeal this decision in higher courts up to the ECHR.
