The Novosibirsk court fined Alexei Kortnev 20,000 rubles

The Novosibirsk Magistrate’s Court imposed a fine of 20,000 rubles on Alexey Kortnev, the musician and leader of the band “Neschastnyi skalsov” in the criminal case of insulting a police officer.
The case against the musician was closed. According to the press service of the region’s courts published on Friday, Kortnev apologized to the police captain and compensated him with moral damages in the amount of 70,000 rubles, and the musician also brought a donation of 10,000 rubles to the “All for Victory” project. This project supports military units fighting against Ukraine on the side of Russia, as well as persons related to state propaganda, Sever.Realii writes.
Alexey Kortnev himself has not yet commented on the court’s decision, Meduza notes.
- In February 2023, the “Unfortunate Chance” band gave a concert at one of the venues in Novosibirsk’s Akademgorodok. Police and firemen came during the concert. They reported smoke in the building and began to evacuate visitors. Kortnev, being dissatisfied with the cancellation of the performance, showed the middle finger to the police captain, according to the investigation materials. The musician was detained for some time.
- At the end of April, a criminal case was opened against Kortnev under the article about insulting a representative of the authorities for an indecent gesture.
- The group “Unfortunate Case” initially opposed the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In 2022, the Moscow “Glavclub” canceled the group’s performance, in Nizhny Novgorod they tried to disrupt their concert. In July 2022, “Fontanka” published a list of musicians unofficially declared “undesirable” in Russia for their anti-war stance – the list also included “Neschastny slasov”.
