The number of Russians killed in Israel since the beginning of the armed attack of the radical Hamas group on October 7 has reached 20. This was reported by the Russian ambassador to Israel, Anatoly Viktorov. Also, seven citizens of Russia are listed as missing. According to the embassy, ​​two Russians are being held hostage by Hamas.

“We assume that there may be more of them in all the categories that he announced, because not all data is available even from the Israeli side,” Viktorov said.

On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia issued an official statement recommending Russians to refrain from traveling to the Middle East, especially to Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and the Palestinian territories. Those who are already in these countries, the agency recommends to observe maximum caution and increased personal safety measures, avoid areas of collisions and risk, follow the recommendations of local authorities, as well as the messages of Russian foreign missions.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Russians in these countries still have the opportunity to fly home on regular airline flights. The possibility of organizing special evacuation flights is not mentioned in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
