In Moscow, the police are detaining suspected participants in the rally in support of Alexei Navalny for the second day, not letting them out of the internal affairs department and the auto insurance department.
According to the telegram channel SOTA, we are talking about at least nine detainees. On Sunday, on the day of the action, protocols were drawn up against them for participating in an unauthorized rally and disobeying police officers, but on Monday the court returned the protocols to the police because of mistakes.
One of the detainees told journalists that in the cell, from which she is not released, she is forced to sleep on a concrete bench without a mattress and blankets, while her warm clothes were taken from her.
- On Sunday, actions were held in dozens of Russian cities in support of the imprisoned opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who turned 47 on June 4. The events were not numerous, but the police detained more than 100 people at them, more than 60 of them in Moscow.
- Announcing the actions, Navalny’s team called on those living abroad to go to the main squares of cities, and in Russia – to look for safe ways to support the opposition: for example, by pasting or handing out leaflets. As noted by the human rights project “OVD-Info”, in the end, balloons, inscriptions on the asphalt “and other absurd circumstances” became the reasons for the detainees. So, in Moscow, they detained an activist who was holding a picket with the poster “Freedom for a kangaroo, Putin is a spider.”
