The head of the “Yabloka” faction in the Tomsk City Duma, Vasyl Eremin, appealed to the prosecutor to conduct an investigation into the article about inciting ethnic discord against State Duma deputy Alexei Dydenko, who previously stated that Ukrainian language and statehood should not exist. This is reported by TV-2.

In May, State Duma deputy from LDPR Oleksiy Dydenko called the Ukrainian language “the language of the enemy” and stated that it is needed only by military translators. “This is a principled factional position,” the deputy said. “There should be no state of this, no language,” Dydenko said at the conference on the issue of harmonization of the normative legal base in accordance with the legislation of Russia.

After the speech, one of those present reminded the deputy that there is an article about inciting inter-ethnic discord. “Why are you scaring me with the criminal code? It’s very scary! There should be neither this state nor this language – clean it up,” Dydenko replied, adding that “if they want to be friends with us, let them speak Russian.”

Aleksey Dydenko was born in Ukraine. He heads the State Duma committee on regional policy.
