The pensioner, who tried to set fire to the military enlistment office, was included in the list of terrorists

Rosfinmonitoring included 61-year-old Nadezhda Kornylova from the city of Usinsk in the Republic of Koma on the list of terrorists and extremists. She is accused of an unsuccessful attempt to set fire to the military enlistment office. The Russian authorities regard this as an attempted terrorist attack.

Kornilova’s surname appeared in the register of terrorists on Friday. Entering a person in this register entails the blocking of his bank accounts.

Nadezhda Kornylova was detained on April 11. According to the investigation, she made two “Molotov cocktails” and came with them to the building of the military enlistment office in Usinsk. She threw one bottle at the front door of the military enlistment office, but it did not catch fire. After that, Kornilova was detained by a security guard. The court placed her in SIZO for two months.

Kornylova is on an old-age pension, but she worked as a maid.

As reported by the publication “7×7”, there are at least four cases in Russia when elderly people were blamed for the arson of the military enlistment office. In the Moscow region, the police detained women aged 70 and 76. In the Sverdlovsk region, a pensioner twice tried to commit arson. A resident of the Irkutsk region said that fraudsters stole 1.5 million rubles from her. and they promised to give it if she set fire to the military enlistment office.

At least forty similar cases are known, criminal cases were initiated in several regions. The General Staff of Russia announced that cases of arson of military enlistment centers would be considered acts of terrorism and would be punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
