The person who wrote “Death to Putin” received three years in prison

In Krasnoyarsk, the court sentenced local resident Ihor Orlovsky to three years of general regime prison and found him guilty of incitement to terrorism and extremism due to comments on social networks. This is reported by “OVD-Info” with reference to lawyer Maria Terekhova.

Orlovsky’s comment with the words “Death to the Russian invaders! Peace to Ukraine and to the world!” The same proceedings included a case under the article on appeals to terrorism. The FSB considered the comment “Death to the old fascist wolf Putin” to be a “call”. Orlovsky is survived by his wife and a 12-year-old child.

Also, a case was initiated against Orlovsky about the so-called fakes about the Russian army and the rehabilitation of Nazism. The prosecution began because of the “Vkontakte” post about the attacks of Russian troops on the drama theater in Mariupol. In addition, in April, Orlovsky left two comments on the same social network. In one, he wrote that Russian soldiers kill civilians and destroy cities, and in the other – with reference to the Ukrainian ombudsman – about the rape of a boy and a girl by Russian soldiers in Buch. The case about the rehabilitation of Nazism was initiated because of the comment “Stalin was the same aggressor as Hitler.”

• Articles about “fakes” and “discrediting” of the Russian army appeared in the Russian legislature after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They make it possible to prosecute citizens who publicly express facts about the war in Ukraine and give assessments of what is happening that contradict the official position of the Russian authorities.
