The Polish authorities have decided to limit the movement of Belarusian trucks through the last checkpoint available to them in Kukuryka (Kozlovychi from the side of Belarus).
As reported on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the movement of Belarusian transport will be restricted from 19:00 on February 21 until “the Belarusian authorities lift the restrictions for Polish carriers.”
Earlier it was reported that a 60-kilometer queue of trucks had formed near the Kukuryka point. In order to return to their country, Belarusian drivers are offered to go through Lithuania or Latvia.
The restrictions do not apply to passenger transport that can cross the border through the Terespol checkpoint (Brest), the department emphasized.
- One of the largest border points between Poland and Belarus – Bobrovniki – was closed at the beginning of February by the decision of the Polish authorities “in the interests of state security”. In response, the Belarusian authorities restricted the passage of Polish trucks through checkpoints on the border with Latvia and Lithuania, allowing traffic only through the Belarusian-Polish border. Other checkpoints – Polovtsi (Peschatka), Slavatyche (Domachevo) and Kuznitsa Belostotskaya (Bruzgy) – are also closed since 2021.
