Estonian Prime Minister Kaia Kallas is in trouble after it emerged that Stark Logistics, a transport company partly owned by Kallas’ husband Arvo Hallik, continued to operate in the direction of Russia during the full-scale war in Ukraine.

This is reported by “European Truth” in the ERR publication.

Estonian company Stark Logistics, 24% of which is owned by Arvo Halliku, said it is helping one of its clients wind down operations in Russia, where it has an aerosol packaging plant.

Last week, the general director of Stark Logistics, Kristian Kraag, told ERR that they practically no longer have shipments to Russia, but the company has not completely stopped them. He said that it is about the movement of warehouse residues – that is, goods that are not subject to EU sanctions.

In addition, ERR learned that the Estonian premier loaned 350,000 euros to her husband’s other company, Novaria Consult, which owns 24.8% of Stark Logistics’ shares.

On Wednesday afternoon, Kallas publicly commented on the situation, stressing that she has no business clients from among the enterprises of the Russian Federation.

“I, as before, adhere to the opinion that all trade and business with Russia must be stoppedwhile the Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine continues,” the Prime Minister of Estonia emphasized.

“My husband owns a share in a logistics company. He explained that the company is helping to stop production activities in Russia of one of its Estonian clients in accordance with laws and sanctions. All more detailed questions should be asked to these companies,” she added.

Kaya Kallas is one of the most pro-Ukrainian politicians in Western countries and actively criticizes Russia.
