In the elections in Slovakia, which took place on Saturday, the party “Course – Slovak Social Democracy” won. Its leader, Robert Fitso, has already held the post of prime minister twice. He is categorically against the military support of Ukraine and in favor of tightening the fight against illegal migration.

“Kurs” won 23.37% of the votes, Reuters reports. Its main competitor, the pro-European party “Progressive Slovakia”, received 16.86% of the votes, the center-left “Holos” – 15.03%.

Robert Fico promised in his interviews that if his party leads the government, Slovakia will no longer send “a single cartridge” to Ukraine. He is also against the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO. Fico’s closest ally in the EU may be Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, the most pro-Kremlin among the leaders of the European bloc.

Also, one of the key points of the election campaign “Kursa” was concern about the growth of illegal immigrants who are trying to enter the European Union through Slovakia.

Now Fico must form a new government, which will replace the current temporary administration of the country with a population of five and a half million people. The Reuters agency wrote that none of the political forces is expected to win an absolute majority, and the formation of a coalition will depend on the results of more than a dozen smaller parties – from the liberals to the extreme right.
