All of Maxim Galkin’s concert venues in Kazakhstan were suddenly closed

Comedian Maksym Galkin’s concerts have been canceled in Kazakhstan. As “Novaya Gazeta – Evropa” reports, technical problems suddenly arose at the Kazakhstan venues where the artist was supposed to perform. On September 30, the management of the central concert hall “Kazakhstan” in Astana announced technical work on the repair of the water pipe, and on October 1, the Palace of the Republic in Almaty reported about the breakdown of the stage.

Galkin was supposed to perform in Astana on October 8, in Almaty on October 9.

Earlier, Galkin already stated that his concerts in Kazakhstan are being prevented “at the state level”, canceling them under what he considers to be far-fetched pretexts.

• After the start of the war in Ukraine, Maksym Galkin publicly condemned Russian aggression – both on social networks and at his concerts. After that, federal TV channels removed him from hosting the program “Tonight” and refused to advertise with his participation. The artist left Russia. In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice of Russia added Galkin to the list of so-called foreign agents.
• Recently, concerts of Russian artists who support the war have also been canceled in Kazakhstan. Yes, the concerts of Larisa Dolina, Polina Gagarina, and Grigory Leps did not take place. The performance, in which the pro-war actor Sergey Glushko plays, was canceled.
