The producer of “Khortytsa” vodka was declared wanted for the assistance of the Armed Forces

The Investigative Committee of Russia announced a search warrant for Ukrainian businessman Evgeny Chernyak, the founder of the Global Spirits holding. Ego is accused of “financing terrorism.”

The investigative committee claims that Chernyak, together with unnamed accomplices, transferred more than 500 million rubles to the armed forces of Ukraine in 2022 “for the implementation of terrorist activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.” In addition, according to the SC, in 2023 he sent “goods intended for military operations” to the Armed Forces in the amount of more than 90 million rubles.

Also on Monday, the Zamoskvoretskyi Court of Moscow considered a case on measures of suppression for two businessmen associated with Global Spirits: the owner of the “Rodnyk and K” liquor and vodka factory and the “Russian North” company Alexander Bespalov, and the general director of “Rodnyk and K” Andrey Lazutin. They are accused of bribery. At the same time, the Investigative Committee, without naming names, indicates that both are connected with Chernyak and his business. By the court’s decision, Alexander Bespalov was taken into custody, Andrey Lazutyn was ordered to prohibit certain actions.

“Rodnyk and K” and “Russian North” were previously part of the Global Spirits holding. The publication “Meduza” calls Bespalov and Lazutin the confidants of Chernyak.

• Global Spirits is a major producer of strong alcohol. He owns, among other things, such vodka brands as “Khortytsa”, “Pervak” and “Morosha”.
• After the start of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, Global Spirits announced its withdrawal from the Russian and Belarusian markets and revoked licenses for the production and sale of its products in Russia and Belarus. Global Spirits production in Russia changed hands in the spring of 2022.
