At the hearing in the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, the prosecutor offered 18 years of strict regime prison to activist artist Bohdan Zyza, who splashed blue and yellow paint on the Yevpatoria administration building. “Play” reports this.

In his last words, Zyza announced that he would start a hunger strike on June 10 and demand that he leave his Russian citizenship, which he received after the annexation of Crimea. The artist separately noted that he forbids the use of forced feeding.

Zyza is accused of justifying terrorism, preparing for a terrorist attack, and vandalism motivated by political enmity.

Artist Bohdan Zyza was detained in Yevpatoria on May 16, 2022. According to the investigation, he covered the facade and doors of the city administration building in Yevpatoria with yellow and blue paint. The FSB claims that he also threw a Molotov cocktail through the window, but the incendiary mixture went out and the fire did not occur.

After the arrest of the artist, the Krym 24 TV channel released a video in which a man calling himself Bohdan Zyza confesses to the crime. Later, Zyza said that the police beat him before the recording.
