The prosecutor demanded a tougher sentence for Alexei Moskalyov

The prosecutor demanded a tougher sentence for Alexei Moskalyov, the father of the girl who drew the anti-war picture, convicted under the article on the so-called repeated discrediting of the army. This is reported by OVD-Info with reference to Moskalyov’s lawyer, Vladimir Bilyenko. Also, according to Bilienko, a new lawyer, Rostyslav Kulikov, appeared in the case under unclear circumstances, who in the appeal agreed with the court that Moskalyov was guilty, but asked to change the punishment to one not connected with deprivation of liberty.

At the same time, the whereabouts of Moskalev himself have not been known for almost a month. At the end of March, he was detained in Belarus a day after a court in the Tula Region sentenced him to two years in prison. Moskalyov then did not come to court and, as the investigation claimed, went into hiding. After his detention in Belarus, it was reported that he was extradited to Russia, but where he is now is unknown.

The prosecutor in his appeal against the sentence claims that Moskalyov committed a crime in the conditions of an armed conflict, which makes the punishment tougher, and demanded that in addition to the deprivation of liberty, he would have the right to engage in the administration of Internet resources for a period of three years.

Lawyer Bilyenko, like lawyer Kulikov, also wrote an appeal in which he insists on the complete innocence of his client. According to him, Kulikov violated the will of the client, who throughout the process insisted on his innocence.

Earlier, the court closed the case on limiting the rights of Masha Moskaleva’s parents. The lawyer called it “an important moral victory.” The girl, who was placed in a shelter after her father’s arrest, however, now lives with her mother, who previously showed no interest in her fate. When she will be able to see her father, who was involved in her upbringing, is unknown.
