Two deputies of the State Duma died in one day

On Sunday, April 23, it became known about the death of two deputies of the State Duma. Both represented “United Russia”.
On Sunday morning, a message appeared about the death of the deputy from the Lipetsk region, Mykola Bortsov. The death of 77-year-old Bortsov was reported by the head of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov. The causes of death are not mentioned.
Bortsov was a deputy for almost 20 years, worked in five convocations of the Duma. “Meduza” notes that he was included in the list of the richest Russians according to Forbes and the rating of 100 civil servants with the highest incomes. Bortsov, like the vast majority of Duma deputies, was also under sanctions from the United States and other Western countries in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In the second half of the day, it became known about the death of another member of the State Duma – Jasharbek Uzdenov. He represented Karachay-Cherkessia and was a deputy from September 2021. He was 56 years old. Vladimir Vasiliev, head of the “United Russia” faction in the State Duma, reported his death “after a serious and prolonged illness.”
The current eighth convocation of the State Duma began its work in December 2021. Until today, two deputies from its composition died, including the leader of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirynovsky.
