The prosecutor requested two years in prison for Masha Moskaleva’s father

The prosecutor’s office requested a two-year prison sentence for single father Alexey Moskalyov from the town of Efremov, Tula region. Moskalev is accused of the so-called discrediting of the Russian army due to comments on social networks. Moskalyov does not admit his guilt.

According to the publication Sota, the representatives of the public organization “Flame” and local residents who speak out in support of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine came to the court session. They expressed condemnation of Moskalev. When asked how they learned about the meeting and Moskalev’s case, those who came did not answer specifically, but said that they “saw it in the press.” Municipal deputy Olha Podolskaya believes that they were brought to the court on purpose to put pressure on the accused, while his support group, on the contrary, was not allowed into the courtroom.

In his last words, Alexey Moskalyov said: “90% of those in the hall are against the war in Ukraine. How can you relate to the deaths? I did not write insults, I did not fall for it.”

Moskalev’s sentence will be announced on Tuesday, March 28.

• Moskalev’s case received wide publicity when his daughter Masha, a sixth grade student, was persecuted. In April 2022, in class, a girl drew a picture in which a woman with a Ukrainian flag shields a child from missiles flying at them. After that, on the initiative of the school staff, the family was checked by the police and the FSB. Ego was threatened with leaving parental rights.
• On March 1, Alexey Moskalyov was detained for anti-war comments. According to his report, he was beaten in the police department. Guardianship authorities placed Masha Moskalyova in a social shelter. Further, the court determined Moskalyov’s preventive measure in the form of house arrest. The emu’s daughter is still not given away. In the orphanage, the girl’s mobile phone was taken away, she is not allowed to communicate with her father, and visitors and volunteers are not allowed to visit her.
• On March 12, the Juvenile Affairs Commission of the city of Efremov, Tula region filed a lawsuit to restrict Moskalyov’s parental rights. The same lawsuit was filed against Masha’s mother, who does not live with the family.
