Mykhailo Zhlobytskyi’s aunt was fined 300,000 for poems about her nephew

The aunt of Mikhail Zhlobytskyi, who set off an explosion in the building of the FSB headquarters in Arkhangelsk, was fined 300,000 rubles for reposting poems dedicated to her nephew on the VKontakte social network. As reported by the OVD-Info human rights project, the 2nd Western District Military Court acquitted Lilia Zhlobytskaya of terrorism.
The criminal case itself was initiated in December last year. Then the house in Zhlobytskaya was searched. In her computer, they found links to the page of the website stihi.ru, on which the poem about the “explosion in the premises of the secret police” was posted. Before the court, the accused was under a restraining order.
- The terrorist attack in the Arkhangelsk FSB headquarters took place on October 31, 2018. A 17-year-old student of the local polytechnic school, Mikhail Zhlobytsky, detonated a homemade bomb at the entrance. As a result of the explosion, he died, three employees of the special service were injured. Before carrying out the terrorist attack, Zhlobytsky announced his plans on one of the social networks, saying that his actions were revenge of the FSB for torture.
- The Investigative Committee of Russia opened more than fifty criminal cases because of the statements made about the terrorist attack. The courts impose large fines on most of the defendants – from 300 to 500 thousand rubles, but some of them received long prison terms of up to five years. A number of the accused were sent to psychiatric clinics for forced treatment.
