The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine began a pre-trial investigation “on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, connected with intentional murder” after a video was published on a number of Telegram channels, in which unknown people shoot at point blank range at three unarmed servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office, the dead were prisoners, and Russian soldiers opened fire on them. The place of the alleged murder is also indicated: the suburb of the village of Krynka, Kherson region.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the incident.

  • The media note that this is far from the first case when Ukraine accuses Russia of shooting prisoners of war. So, in December of last year, several similar videos appeared on the network at once, allegedly shot in the Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions.
  • In total, more than 50 thousand criminal cases about alleged crimes, including the murder of prisoners committed by the Russian military, are being investigated in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense of Russia either did not comment or rejected any similar accusations.
