The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the annexed Crimea announced that it is resolving the issue of the revocation of the license of the lawyer Alexei Ladin, who defends political prisoners and Ukrainian prisoners of war. The lawyer himself was detained in mid-October in Sevastopol.
The police have no legal power to revoke a lawyer’s license. She can apply for it to the regional bar association where he is registered. In the case of Ladynym, it is the Chamber of Advocates of the Tyumen region, where at the time of publication they did not report the receipt of the appeal.
On October 13, Ladin was detained after a search of his Sevastopol apartment. The court arrested him for 15 days in the case of the demonstration of prohibited symbols. The reason was a link in his Facebook page to the photo gallery of the Krym.Realii editorial office with drawings by Ismail Ramazanov, a semi-prisoner. In it, experts saw the symbols of the Noman Chelebydzhikhan Battalion, which the Supreme Court of Russia recognized as a terrorist organization.
The court also fined the lawyer 45 thousand rubles in the case of discrediting the Russian army for an anti-war post on social networks, in which he shared a link to an article entitled “Days in the Capital of the Russian World” and used the hashtag #НЕТВОЙНЕ.
