Trade between Ukraine and the EU
“The economic front of our fight against aggression is based on the close interaction of Ukrainian and European business. Maintaining economic activity now, accelerating economic recovery and returning to Ukraine millions of Ukrainians who found temporary protection in the EU are the fundamental elements of our victory. So the development of trade between Ukraine and the EU is one of the key factors for victory on the economic front,” she noted.
Before the Great War, the share of the EU in Ukraine’s international trade was 41%. More than 10 thousand Ukrainian companies exported their products to the EU.

“Additional decisions taken during the war — the cancellation of all duties, the conclusion of an agreement on the cancellation of transportation permits, joining the joint transit system — helped Ukraine soften the shock of the war and even more strongly connected the Ukrainian economy with the EU,” the Ministry of Economy added.
The department explained that it is not only about exports from Ukraine to the EU, but also about imports of vital goods from the EU. Ukraine receives 90% of fuel and 70% of medical preparations. According to the results of 2022, the EU’s share in Ukraine’s foreign trade turnover amounted to 55.5%.
